Hello
Out of interest, .....
is Bentley Systems ISO 9001 accredited?
Without divulging any confidential/sensitive information, ..... one wonders what the process is for 'checking and testing for suitabity for intended purposes'
Hello Phil
Yes, ..... that would be correct. I'll take you're word for it that ISO9001 is probably not the most appropriate scheme/approach as (from my basic understanding) it's mainly a manufacturing based system.
Well, .... I'm glad there is some QA standard in place, ........ however (as you may well be aware from some of my comments/rants) I do feel that this most be lacking/a bit thin as , ..... well, ..... let's put this politely, the 'quality' of some of the Bentley Systems products (for Buildings in my case) leaves a fair bit to be desired.
Having participated in some of the Beta/EAP programs, it all seemed a bit 'random'. We 'play around' with it a bit. There wasn't any structured program or arrangement where we (and Bentley Systems) can 'tick off'' that this or that feature set has now been tested, and passed as 'suitable for production purposes'.
I must admit I was quite enthusiatic initally about participating in the EAPs, but after 2-3 cycles of it, my enthusiasm dropped off and I came to the conclusion that frankly, ...... I was wasting my time. Not due to any negative attitudes or behaviour on behalf of the Bentley people involved (who were, I must state, above board and reasonable, throughout the process), .... but the overall approach and system (or lack of, ..... it was not very 'systematic') lead to a very jumbled/mixed set of results.

Agree - unless what we small-users/EAP forum participants see here is just the casual tip of a much bigger, highly organised iceberg.
Is it?
Maybe 99% of Bentley's EAP user-consultation is direct with the IT depts of their big customers, and this here is mainly for sake of 'look, we're transparent' PR?
