Modelling a Chain Link Fence

Hello,

Is there an MDL to model a chain link fence in 3D?

  • Any reason you wouldn't just use a surface and a material assignment?

  • Hi,

Not sure if this post has been replied but I thought I'd ask anyways.

We're looking for a better way to create 3D Boundary Fences then our current process. We're currently using a 3 staged process shown below but we're keen to develop a single process.....ideally a dynamic 3D creation over the associated surface.

    Process A:

    • Create cell with fence post & foundation
    • Array path the cell along 3D linestring

    Process B:

    • Drop array to individual cells
    • Drape cell onto surface to assign correct elevation

    Process C:

    • Extude the panels

Any better way of doing this will be much appreciated
