Alternate text editing handles in XM

The editing handles sometimes is not working. When I select the text, I can see the word wrap handles, but just can't drag it to change the line length. Of cause, the text contain several words. The handle for scaling is working fine. I use MS V8i. I would appreciate if you can help to fix this problem...
