What's in a name?
So just how did MicroStation get it's name? Well, Phil Chouinard posted this on CCM:
Barry takes "credit" for having named MicroStation, which happened as follows:
1. We developed a software emulation for Intergraph WorkStations that were connected to the VAX.
2. We developed a software package that eliminated the need for the VAX by running on a "microcomputer", so the name MicroStation followed pretty much directly from PseudoStation.
And that's the way it was... 18 years ago."
