Lionville Middle School has a unique way of adding things up.  Special thanks to Principal Ross for making it all possible!.

When you add 1 teacher and 1 mentor and multiply their efforts by 16 students.  Then take that total and divide it across 6 hours, divide 6 pizzas among these people, what does that give you?  Besides 4 pairs of Uggs getting painted and a lot of laughing?

A very productive day!! That's what.

Let me explain, this past Friday, Principal Ross made it possible for Mr. Raines, myself and most of the class to be able to work on the model.  What looked like a lot of complete confusion at the beginning of the day wound up to be a very productive and successful day.

Students worked on their buildings, painting the wood surrounds, and practicing their presentations.  If an outsider had walked in at any point, they might have been confused that anything was being accomplished, with all of the laughter, singing to 90's pop songs, and four different pairs of Uggs being painted.

As the last few days approach, the students seem to focus more and more.  As the day went on, instead of wearing down, the students seemed to push forward, press on and achieve laser like precision.

It is a good thing the students are being as productive as they are, as a weird twist of fate, the students marking period ends one week prior to the competition, which means the students have this week to finish the model and be ready for the competition.

Only time will tell if all of their efforts "add up".
