Robust Software Meets Demanding Requirements Under Part L2 of U.K.'s Building Regulations for Reducing CO2 Emissions in New and Existing Level 5 Buildings

EXTON, Pa. -  Bentley Systems, Incorporated, the leading company dedicated to providing comprehensive software solutions for the infrastructure that sustains our world, today announced that its Hevacomp Simulator V8i building energy simulation software has been certified by the United Kingdom's Communities and Local Governments (CLG) for dynamic simulation modeling (DSM). As a result, Hevacomp Simulator V8i now meets the demanding requirements under Part L2 of the U.K. Building Regulations, which establishes measures for reducing CO2 emissions in all new and existing Level 5 buildings. Level 5 buildings typically have mixed-mode or passively conditioned spaces and employ sophisticated power plants and systems - making it difficult to effectively simulate their energy use with the simplified building energy modeling method (SBEM). Hevacomp Simulator V8i is the first and only software certified for DSM to use the EnergyPlus engine, the global standard developed by the U.S. Department of Energy for dynamic energy analysis.
