XML to DTM

You would use the "Create From File" found on the Civil Tools > Terrain Models task.

When prompted to browse for the file choose "LandXML" from the "Files of type" field.

but how do you avoid the triangles that are to big?

That is really more an issue of how the terrain was created and exported to XML. Maybe a side length or boundary feature should have been defined.

When importing though you are going to get what was stored in the XML file.

The triangle sides are to big I don't see were can you tell it to import with 100' maximum length.

I hope you can see the image. Or how can I edit the DTM to get rid of the lager triangles.

You do not define the triangle length at the time of import. Right click on the terrain after it is imported and open the properties dialog. You will see the traditional triangle controls there.
