Bookmarking

The Bookmark button at right always says 'unbookmark this forum' until clicked, when it says '....' for a long while, eventually goes to 'bookmark this forum' - and all other pages then seem to correct themselves thereafter too.

  • Interesting observation...  something we will definitely take a close look at.

  • Still dodgy, as described. The lengthy wait until '...' changes to 'Bookmark ...' must be significant - what's the system doing all that time?

  • Hmmm... the testing I have done (using various computers and browsers) reflects no delay whatsoever -- clicking "Bookmark forum" returns immediately, as does "Unbookmark forum". Maybe it is browser or connectivity related? What browser and browser version are you using?

  • Ffox 26.0, W7. Web connectivity for all other purposes is normal

To recap, every page at first says 'unbookmark this forum' (but it's not already bookmarked - luckily). Click it, it goes to '...' for a long time - minutes - then eventually 'bookmark this forum'. Click that and it immediately correectly shows 'unbookmark ...' - but as far as I can see it's not in fact bookmarked. At same time, the bookmarks list on my fostertom page is also v slow to go from page (mini-panel) to page - click several times to make it take notice, then wait a minute or so.

What I said above, that having clicked 'unbookmark' and done the waiting, other pages were also put right - not so. Every page remains wrong, and as far as I can see, nothing can currently be bookmarked.

And another thing - that bookmarks list, 13 mini-panels in my case, is hard to use. We did discuss making it searchable and/or sortable by title, date order etc.

Would have to agree with you on this. The Bookmarks drop down is generally unresponsive and not big enough to be usable. One long drop down list that works instantaneously would be better.
