After receiving my architectural degree (Dipl.-Ing. der Architektur) at the Technical University Berlin in 1988, I received a Fulbright scholarship and studied at The Ohio State University where I received my Master of Architecture degree in 1991. Until June 1993 I held a Postgraduate Associateship at the Computer Graphics Research Center in Darmstadt, Germany. Then I became part of the form.Z development team at auto.des.sys, Inc. in Columbus, OH. In September 1998 I joined NBBJ as Design Technology Manager, leading the firm's design technology group within the Information Systems department. I supported the firm's migration to Bentley System's TriForma and continue to promote effective use of digital tools in NBBJ's design practice. In 2003 I started exploring CustomObjects and am now very interested in unleashing the potential of GenerativeComponents as design engine. Starting as an OSU Graduate Associate and then throughout my postgraduate and professional experience I have taught Computer Aided Architectural Design, use of CAD software, 3D modeling systems, and object based design techniques to architects and designers. Throughout my years in the industry I have maintained contact with the academic community and have presented at CAAD Futures, ACADIA, eCAADe, Bentley User conferences, as well as AIA and other industry events.
