I got this VW Beetle in 1971 as a high school graduating "gift".  My parent's bought it and I paid them back.  It cost $2500 in 1971.  This picture was taken about 1974.  I was working at Maremont Muffler in Chicago (you can see the parking sticker on the window) and the garter was from the senior prom of a girl I was seeing.
