Tuesday night is a little bit different than most evening events but promises to be a lot fun! Philadelphia is known worldwide for its iconic landmarks such as Robert Indiana's LOVE sculpture located on the Civic Center Mall. Inspired by this and dozens of other well known landmarks the "Be Together LIVE Design Competition" pits three design teams against one another to conceive, model and render a new Philadelphia landmark - in an hour!
The teams will consist of two conference attendees who will then select one Bentley colleague to assist them throughout the one hour competition. Each team will be provided with MicroStation V8i running on a smoking hot HP computer.
To keep this FUN, the new landmark not only can be whimsical or outrageous, this is actually encouraged because once the design is complete it will be the audience who picks the winner. Audience participation is encouraged by throwing out suggestions and cheering on their favorite team.
Emcees will circulate amongst the teams as they work out their design for short interviews much like you would see on TV shows such as Junkyard Wars (one of my favorites), Project Runway, or Top Chef. All the while, the audience watches their progress on three large screens. To take some of the pressure off the design teams while they work, the Emcees will provide additional entertainment with a "Fun Trivia" contest.
And, yes, there will be prizes!
