Export AutoPLANT Piping, Equipment, Raceways, and ProSteel ACIS objects to .sat file

Occasionally AutoPLANT models need to be give to users who are not using AutoCAD or Microstation as their CAD application. AutoPLANT objects may not be available in other CAD programs and in this case ACIS objects must be created and sent to the user. The ACIS process is detailed in the following Technote http://communities.bentley.com/Products/Plant/Design___Engineering/w/Plant_Design_and_Engineering__Wiki/converting-autoplant-objects-to-acis.aspx.

Once the ACIS objects are created there are 2 options for sending the data. First a copy of the original AutoPLANT dwg file can be sent and then the ACIS lay can be isolated and the raw data can be used. Or once the ACIS objects are created just the ACIS objects can be exported to a .sat file which can then be imported into other CAD applications.

Piping Export to ACIS objects
1. Go to Piping>Piping Tools>Representations
2. In the Representations Dialog press the ACIS button
3. In the selection Dialog choose all. The drawing will process and place the ACIS objects on the 0 layer (default).

Equipment Export to ACIS Objects
1. Go to Piping>Piping Tools>Representations>Create 3D ACIS
2. Manually select the equipment or type ALL for all objects
3. Press enter and A CIS objects will be created.

Raceways Export to ACIS objects
1. Go to Raceways>Raceways Tools>Representations
2. In the Representations Dialog press the ACIS button
3. In the selection Dialog choose all. The drawing will process and place the ACIS objects on the 0 layer (default).

ProSteel/ProStructural Export to ACIS Objects
1. Go to ProSteel>2D>Create ACIS drawing
2. Follow the Command prompts and select the Steel objects
3. The Steel will be processed into ACIS object. The ACIS steel may be difficult to see as because it is behind the normal object.

Creating a SAT file from AutoCAD once the ACIS objects are created
1. Go to File>Export.
2. Change the File type to ACIS(*.sat) and enter a file name and location to save the .sat file.
3. Press save
4. When prompted type ALL in the command line to chose all objects. AutoCAD will only output ACIS objects it finds to the .sat file.

Please note that the ACIS objects do not need to be saved in the drawing. Create the ACIS objects and export to the .sat file and do not save so the ACIS objects will not be kept in the file. This will prevent extra unneeded data accumulating in the file.
