RSS Feeds with Be Communities

  • Comments 2
If you haven't already figured it out Be Communities has RSS feeds for just about everything.  RSS feeds (indicated by this icon: ) are available for every forum, topic, blog, and wiki update.  Subscribing to them will allow you to get up to the minute updates and easily track what you have seen on Be Communities.  To subscribe to an RSS feed you simply click on the icon and copy the URL into your news reader.  Some popular news readers are Outlook 2007 , Google Reader, and NewsGator.   You can also add RSS feeds to applications and web pages like Google Desktop, and My Yahoo.

For more specific information on RSS see this page . (Wikipedia)

Custom RSS Feeds

You can create custom RSS feeds by using the search feature.  Under the search form is an RSS icon.  The feed will be populated by terms that you search on.

For example, if you want to see only forum posts that have the term MicroStation in them you would use this RSS link:
http://communities.bentley.com/search/Searchrss.aspx?q=MicroStation%20AND%20app:forums&o=Relevance

If you want a feed for all Blog topics that contain ProjectWise OR MicroStation:
http://communities.bentley.com/search/Searchrss.aspx?q=ProjectWise%20OR%20MicroStation%20AND%20app:weblogs&o=Relevance

If you want a feed for STAAD.Pro across the entire site:
http://communities.bentley.com/search/Searchrss.aspx?q=STAAD%20AND%20(app:weblogs%20OR%20app:files%20OR%20app:forums%20OR%20app:photos)&o=Relevance
