A typical floor slab is 4ins thick and is thickened at the exterior, stepping down to a plinth or grade beam that typically forms the brick ledge. The face brick sits down on the brick ledge flush with that face, not flush with the edge of the floor slab as done here nor does it have its base at the same elevation of the floor slab. I just started watching these videos as I am exploring the possibility of upgrading to Bentley Architecture & learning about it - but is rather frustrating to see examples that do not accurately reflect construction because my first question then is - what sort of trouble do I have to go to to model in order to have a simple thing like this perimeter accurately reflect real world construction?
