QUESTION: How the program is calculating "Total Prestress Losses"?

ANSWER:

Once the Prestress Girder design is done the user needs to click on Results and in the new PRINT window user needs to select the Span and Beam number. Then the user needs to CHECK the Properties (DFs, Losses, Pattern etc) option.

Then in the Enhanced Report Viewer under AASHTO LOSSES heading the user should be able to see Gains and Adjustment information in the first Table and Time Dependent Losses information in the second Table.

The Final Total Prestress loss shown in the Leap Conspan output is calculated as follows.

Final Gain  = -9.96 ksi

Initial Loss = 13.65 ksi  (Elastic Shortening)

Long Term Loss = 20.3 ksi

Total Prestress Losses = (13.65 + 20.3) - 9.96 = 23.99Ksi
