Hi all, sorry for getting onto this thread so late.......

What version of V8i Comms are you using? The latest release on the web is 8.11.7.90 and I believe that "focus" was still the only password allowed for the Comms user unless single sign on is configured...in this case the password can be anything you wish. 

Builds later than 8.11.7.90 (next release due out midyear or earlier) will have an encrypted password storage mode that will allow use of any password for Comms. User will still have to connect to oracle spatial until Map supports a similar method however unless Single Sign On is configured....

I've figured out. The connection initiated by 'cismain.ma' works with default password from installation manual. It seems that application somewhere stores this password.

Is this a new install? Did it work before?
Basically, how did you get to the point where you are at now?

If this is a brand new setup then there are many things that could be at fault here. This will require submitting an official support request to Bentley.

When i start application (Fiber v8i) i don't see Bentley Communications menu , i don't have access to modules (Strand, Fiber etc.), what is wrong? or how to enable this menu?

I've tried to manually run cismain.ma U(tilities -> MDL Applications) but i get information: "The database * cannot be connected". Application don't even ask about logging credentials.
