I found a recorded Onsite presentation from the BE 2007 conference. It has answered most of my questions and I am impressed with what I see so far. I've forwarded the recording to our survey dept.

Hello Neil,

Yes you can (except for maybe template-depending on what you mean exactly).  With OnSite, you can take Bentley Civil data directly to the field (geometry files, surfaces, etc).  So you have access, in the field, to the data in the same way it was presented on the design side.  There is no need to convert the data, it just loads directly into OnSite.

Another question regarding Onsite. In CAD we can create a road template and stretch it to follow an edge of pavement alignment and edge of pavement profile. Can OnSite stake out roads the same way? In other words can we upload the road template, centerline and edge of pavement aligments and profiles and stake them at any station and offset? This would be much more efficient and flexible than generatring static staking points in the office and sending them out to the field.
