Adam,
setting the "Default" SMD point to display Elevation and Description will get this information drawn to the screen for the codes that dont appear in the SMD.
Getting that code to display on the screen... I dont know about.
I'll investigate and get back to you. My first thought is no... hopefully I'm wrong.
Thanks Michael,
Yes, I do know of the "Feature Code Error Report" that is exported out when one imports new data. I guess my question is there any way to import points that have p-codes that are not in the SMD and still have software display (P-number, elev, p-code & description) for these shots? It does/will import these shots with unknown p-codes but it puts everything on defult level and there is no other info displayed. Just a Point number and tick that are all on the defult level.
I would like the software to import every point regardless if the p-code is in the SMD or not. At the same time, have it write out the following (P-number, elev, p-code & description) for every shot.
Thanks
Hi,
There is a real easy way to find out what field codes wee collected and are not in your SMD file.
From the Survey Menu bar go to: Dataset>Review Reports>Feature Code Error Report.
This will list the field codes that aren't in the SMD.
Thanks for the help! The "Apply Feature Best Match" fixed/address that problem!
Now, I have another question that I would like some help/assistance with. Why is it or why does software write out any p-code name that is NOT in SMD file to "Default" level and just displays the point number and no other attributes of the point/shot. I try to always continuously be updating my SMD code list to new codes as we create them. However, what I'm experiencing with multiple techs out in the field collecting data, there is all ways a handful of non-typical codes that are used that are not in the SMD file.
When I import their data, the shots with codes not on the SMD list just show up at "Default" ticks. Not very helpful for the person trying to process the data. Is there some way to force the software to write out (p-number, symbol, p-code, elev, notes) even though the p-code is not in the SMD??
Thanks again, your help is greatly appreciated.
Guys,
there is a setting for this:
In the Survey Project Preferences: Visualization>Apply Feature Best Match.
That should make each "TC*" coding into a separate chain.
Was this problem ever addressed or figured out? I'm having the same problem.
PowerCivil cannot distinguish the difference between TC, TC1, TC2, ect. p-codes when you are pushing multiple lines of the same code when collecting data in the field.
Help please......
We are transitioning over to powercivil/powersurvey from InRoads. In InRoads, you can have a p-code for a line, for instance top of curb could be TC. If you have multiple curb lines you could input one line as TC1, another as TC2, etc. and it would know to use the features associated with TC. Is that (or something similar) possible with power civil and, if so, how/where do you set it up?
