  • Ok, I found a solution.

It seems that hyperlinks to local file are Windows security problem. It will allow you to, for example, start file locally when you press a hyperlink somewhere on Internet. This action is forbidden of course.

BUT,  if you locally share a folder where you store your local files. Then you create a hyperlink such as: \\YourComputerName\SharedFolder\FileIWantToStart.jpg you actually start Intranet access instaed of Internet. Intranet is less secure than Internet and file stored locally will actually opened in IE. Maybe this won't work on every computer but you'll have to manually manage Intranet settings in your IE.

    I hope  this will help....

  • Hi everybody,

I'm trying to link external file, such as .jpg file stored locally, to be shown in IE for example. I read similar post where guys from Bentley explained how to make hyperlink field (<- I made one here:) in XFM by adding some code into default.xslt file. It works fine for links on Internet (started with http:) , but for links stored locally (started with file:) it doesn't work.

Do you have another solution or idea how to solve a problem? (...and show image conected tospecified feature...)

I know that hyperlinks are pretty new stuff in IT industry :) but I really don't see any problem to make  it possible.

     Many thanks in advance,

    Mladen

P.S. I have dgn file conected to .mdb database where "links" are stored. I can create hyperlink field in Access but this field type is unreadable by BMap.
