[GWP] Limit for number of layers?

Hi,

if there a limit (both technical or recommended) how many layers can be handled by GWP engine?

I am participating on a feasibility study and it seems there will be hundreds (possibly over a thousand) layers. The most of them will be probably static and could be converted into iDPR (DB attributes have to be accessible) and only a fraction will be displayed on a client side at the same time. I guess it will help a bit, but I have no experience how the publishing engine behaves if so manu layers is configured.

With regards,

  • MapView also has some issues with memory limits. And one more thing if you are using iDPR then keep in mind that all iDPR files need to be available you can't create a dummy iDPR layer beforehand if no data exist there. If any iDPR layer file doesn't exist then all service becomes unavailable even if other layers are correct, tDPR is tile based and work better for such purposes if files are added later.
