Reference WMS raster imagery to MicroStations V8i (SS3)

HI All,

I am the user of MicroStation V8i SS3, Please let me know how to reference the WMS imagery via Raster Manger tool. We have the access of WMS imagery from Digital Globe and currently we are using this assess in ARCGIS software via Connect Digital globe image tool. Using this details how can load this in Raster Manger tool of WMS map editor

  • The Raster Image Display section in the help file describes the workflow, copied next:

    In Raster Manager, you can create new or attach existing Web Map Service files using New >WMS or Attach >WMS in the File menu. You can also manage WMS Servers using the Servers Manager dialog accessible through the WMS Map Editor dialog.

    To Create a New WMS Attachment
    1. From the Raster Manager File menu, choose New >WMS.
    The WMS Map Editor dialog displays.
    2. Click on Servers… to select or add a URL for a WMS Server.
    The Servers Manager dialog displays.
    3. In the Servers Manager dialog, select a server in the list.
    When selected, the connection to the server will be made and the Server settings in the dialog will update with the currently selected server information.
    4. Click OK to dismiss the Servers Manager dialog.
    5. In the WMS Map Editor dialog, select the desired layers in the Available Layers list and click Add to Map.
    6. In the Settings section of the WMS Map Editor dialog, change the settings if required, then click Save and Attach.
    The New WMS File dialog displays.
    7. Choose a location and enter a File name for the new WMS, then click Save.
    The Raster Attachment Options dialog displays.
    8. Edit the required options and click Attach.
    The newly created WMS file is now attached.

    To Attach an Existing WMS
    1. From the Raster Manager File menu, choose Attach > WMS.
    or
    In the Raster Manager dialog, click the Attach icon and select WMS in the drop-down menu.
    The Attach Raster Reference dialog opens.
    2. Use controls in the Attach Raster Reference dialog to select the WMS file.
    3. (Optional) Turn on Raster Preview, to preview the file being attached.
    4. Click Open.
    The Raster Attachment Options dialog opens.
    5. Modify the attachment settings, as required, then click Attach.
    Note that WMS files are always attached as read-only and the default Geo Priority is always “Image Header.” WMS files cannot be placed interactively.
