  • Thanks Jerry,

I will go through the steps, Test with that and let you know.

  • If this is the same schema, but with different user logins, then no, you do not have to register the different logins. If this is2 different schemas ( own tables, sequences, indexes, etc) , then they are considered by Oracle and Bentley Map  as 2 different datasets, then yes, you will need to register each in the GSA and set them up as different datasets.

As part off the registering process, you tie the features to a paticular database schema, thus even if you understand the 2 schemas as being the same, the GSA does not reconize them as such.

Now if they are truly identical, in every sense of the word., then you can take and do the following:

    • Create the Database connection for schema 1.
    • Register the data for schema 1.
    • Save schema 1.
    • Create the connection for schema 2. This will create a unique connection for schema 2.
    • Using a text editor, copy the 'guts'  of schema 1 into the schema 2 xml file. Do not overwrite the 'Graphical Source'  XML tags in the schema 2 file, it is the part you created earlier in bullet item 4.
    • Now you should have identical GSA files. Please make backup copies of the XML schema files before doing this cut./paste operation.
    • Test.

  • Hi,

I am using Geospatial Administrator for registering the features in oracle(Graphical Source Node in the administrator).

My question is i have two schema which are same in structure, only the difference is the schemaname.

    schema 1 : DRN/DRN@SCHEMA
    schema 2 : DRN1/DRN1@SCHEMA

Both of the schema's are same only the schema name is different.

I am registering the DRN/DRN@SCHEMA in Geospatial Administrator with all the symbology settings including PBA(Property Based Annotation) and PBS(Property Based Symbology).
Once i "Export" and "Run" the geospatial administrator the registered schema .ucf file workspace will be opened and the registered features will be displayed in the "Command Manager Interface".

now the question is: i will goto-->File-->Open Oracle Spatial and open the DRN1/DRN1@SCHEMA schema instead of DRN/DRN@SCHEMA schema

i will use the "Place" command feaure in command manager and place the feature in the dgn. does the feature placed will be posted to DRN1/DRN1@SCHEMA?

Can i able to post the data to DRN1/DRN1@SCHEMA since we have same schema.

My question is do i need to register the other schema for posting the features in to that schema. if it is like that then it will take lot of time to configure the Geospatial Administrator for each schema since the schema is same only the name change

Please provide me the solution. waiting for your reply
