Add Your Logo to gINT Standard Non-Metric Report Forms

APPLIES TO:

gINT Logs, gINT Professional, gINT Professional Plus

ASSUMPTIONS: The following assumes:

GENERAL NOTES:

Any changes you make to the Library Drawing “COMPANY INFORMATION” will automatically appear in all the standard gINT reports that call this block, such as the Log report "GENERAL BH / TP / WELL" and the Fence report "STRATIGRAPHY & GW - A SIZE". If the block has been called in other custom or modified reports, changes to the block will impact those custom or modified reports as well.

Add Your Logo to gINT Standard Metric Report Forms

First, determine the current property settings for the logo placeholder:

  1. In gINT, go to DRAWINGS/Drawing Library.
  2. Select the COMPANY INFORMATION from the object selector. In the generic COMPANY INFORMATON drawing, a placeholder shows the space reserved for your logo. This can be a text, or a bitmap graphic. We want to delete it and replace it with your own logo as a bitmap graphic symbol.
  3. In the File menu, select Copy page.
  4. Give the new library drawing a descriptive name. This will be our backup copy, so a good name might be COMPANY INFORMATION BACKUP. Click OK to save the copy.
  5. Select the COMPANY INFORMATION from the object selector.
  6. Double-click on the logo placeholder to open its properties window, and note the following properties: X, Y, Horiz Align, Vert Align for a text placeholder, or X, Y,  Override Height, Override Width, Override Horiz Align, Override Vert Align for a bitmap symbol placeholder. (You will know which you have by the title in the Properties dialog when you double-click the logo placeholder.)
  7. Click the Cancel button to close the properties window.

Now add your logo file as a bitmap symbol in the gINT library:

  1. In gINT, go to SYMBOL DESIGN/Bitmap Symbols.
  2. If the screen says “In the current file there are no applications” it means no bitmap symbols are supported yet. Click the New tool (the only tool in the toolbar, it looks like a blank yellow sheet of paper) to open the New bitmap symbol properties dialog. Give it a descriptive name (like LOGO).

If there is a LOGO bitmap symbol available from the object selector, select it and see if it is the same as the logo placeholder. If it is not, click the New tool. If it is the same, click the tool that appears just to the left of the object selector to open the bitmap symbol properties dialog for the placeholder.
  3. In either Properties dialog, click the button with three dots at the right-hand end of the Load Raster File property field. Use the Explorer to navigate to the location of your logo file, and click Open. (If you are creating the first bitmap symbol, you will need to click OK and then reopen its properties dialog to continue.)
  4. Make the Color Depth True Color (24 bits) if it is not already. (You can also change the Image Editor by clicking the pick button with the three dots, just to the right of the Image Editor property. Zoom Factor can be changed to make the whole logo image viewable in the Bitmap Symbol screen.)

Finally, add or edit the Bitmap Symbol entity in the COMPANY INFORMATION library drawing:

  1. In gINT, go to DRAWINGS/Drawing Library, and select the COMPANY INFORMATION from the object selector.
  2. If you had a text placeholder originally, from the Draw menu, select the Graphics/Bitmap Symbol option. If COMPANY INFORMATION has a bitmap symbol placeholder, double-click on the logo placeholder to open its properties window.
  3. Click the three-dot pick button at the right end of the Bitmap Symbol property field, and select the logo graphic by name from the list.
  4. If you recorded an Override Height or Override Width for the placeholder bitmap symbol, enter the same values. Otherwise, enter an override height of 0.65 and an override width of 0.65.
  5. Enter the X and Y values you recorded for the placeholder.
  6. Enter the Horiz Align and Vert Align or the Override Horiz Align and Override Vert Align as the Override Horiz Align and Override Vert Align settings.
  7. Click to turn on the check box at Show at design time. This will allow you to see the position of your log in the overall design.
  8. Click OK.

Test the output to make sure these changes are what you wanted.

You can change the position of the company information text to give you more room for the logo, but check the results in OUTPUT or REPORT DESIGN for each report. Because this block is included in most standard reports, changes to the library drawing COMPANY INFORMATION will impact most reports in your library.
