Aplication Hammer: in gravity flow pipe

Hello,

I need one example , to apply Hammer V8i (trasient analisys) in gravity flow pipe.

I have one system only :

-Reservoir

-Joins

-Valve PRV

-Tanks

My system does not include pump's or others components.

  • Vanfa, could you clarify exactly what you need help for? It sounds like you are modeling a pressurized system that flows by gravity? (based on hydraulic grade difference between tanks and/or reservoirs). Do you have a specific question about the time vs. relative closure pattern for a valve?

I encourage you to try out the Search bar at the top of the Hydraulics and Hydrology community. As you search, be sure to click the button "in hydraulics and hydrology" so that your search covers previous forum discussions as well as Support Solution articles in our wiki.

We have quite a bit of helpful content available that may answer your question. In addition to the FAQ link that Scott provided above, here are a few articles on the subject of valve closure for a transient simulation in HAMMER:

    communities.bentley.com/.../modeling-reference-_2D00_-valves-of-various-types.aspx

    communities.bentley.com/.../modeling-an-initially-partially-closed-valve-tn.aspx

There is an example model on valve closure included with HAMMER - see "TCV_Closure_Example.wtg" in the "Samples" folder within your HAMMER installation folder.

Furthermore, if you're new to HAMMER, the below article can be used as a guide for learning. We have quite a bit of formal training available which covers various workflows and typical modeling situations:
