Hi
I have a CAD file which is including two boundary areas for each catchbasin.
one for total Catchment areas and another one for Impervious area.As figure below.
Is there any quick way in SewerGEMS to assign them to the catchbasins?
I see in the catchment properties , there is Multiple subareas options and into the subareas I am able to define the impervious area manually.
how can I do it automatically by having just CAD file of the areas?
I have Inroads as well, if there is any way over please let me know.
Regards
Hamid
Hamid,
You can use Modelbuilder to import the "total catchment area" polygons as catchments. As mentioned in this Support Solution article, if you have the outflow node label as a column in your data source, you can map it to the Outflow Node field in Modelbuilder. Otherwise, you will need to assign the Outflow Nodes manually. The ability to batch-assign outflow nodes is something that is being looked into for a future release.
As for the "Subarea" information within a catchment, see your other post for more on the format required to use the "Catchment, Subareas" table type in Modelbuilder. Beside that, I would suggest manual entry - it might help to annotate in AutoCAD, then add the DXF as a background layer. The only other thing I can thing of would be manipulate the source data (maybe ArcGIS) to combine the two polygons into a single polygon with the total area and composite loss coefficient and Tc.
I would personally lean toward importing the total catchment areas with Modelbuilder, add an annotated version of the CAD file as a background, then manually enter the Subarea information and outflow nodes for each catchment. Even if you have a lot of catchments, it would probably be faster than trying to manipulate and figure out a way to automate it.

By exporting catchment boundaries data from cad file to excel file you mean exporting the catchment areas right? Once you have imported the cad file data like catchment areas into model through Modelbuilder , then you can easily export that data to excel file format using SewerGEMS. Here are some possible ways to export the required data into excel format. communities.bentley.com/.../25844.can-i-easily-export-my-results-to-an-excel-spreadsheet
