Time required to fill the network in Watergems

How do I know the time required to fill the network in case of gravity flow and pressure flow in watergems

  • WaterGEMS hydraulic calculations are based on the assumption that pies are full. It would not be appropriate to use it.

    SewerGEMS could be used to examine pipe filling since it can deal with partly full pipes.

    The key consideration here is "Where is the air that is being displaced going?" If it is going into a downstream tank, it will leave much quicker than if it is being pushed out through hydrants and air release valves. You need to fill the system fairly slowly because filling can result in some serious waterhammer events.
