How to use negative elevation in a wet well (SewerGEMS)

I have to create a model in which these are a few pump stations that have elevation under zero. I tried to set up the wet well and it seems to be ok. Can it cause problems during calculation?

The second issue is about the depth/area curve, I want to be sure to understand how SewerGEMS is interpreting it. I want to create an irregular wet well that is 5m x 3,6m between elevation -1,9 and 0,049 and that is 3,95m x 10m between elevation 0,049 and 8,25. How do I have to write it to make it work?

I'm using SewerGEMS v8i serie 5

Thenk you!

  • Hello Marie-Joelle,

Negative elevations should not be a problem.

The "depth-area" option for a wetwell expects a table of depths (measured from the bottom of the wetwell) versus equivalent cross sectional area. So in your case it sounds like you have an area of 18 m^2 between a depth of zero and 1.949 m and an area of 39.5 m^2 between a depth of 1.949 and 10.15

I've added this to the below wiki article, including a screenshot:

How does the Depth-Area option work for a Wetwell?
