StormCAD and manually inputting flows

Hello,

We have created a stormCAD model for a series of culverts that are joined together by bends.  See picture below.  We have also manually inputted the design flows into the model in the 'inflow collection' parameter (CS-1).  We have created base scenarios to represent 2 year through 100 year rainfall events.  However, when we run the various models there is no change in hydraulic gradeline and the headwater elevation only changes by 3cm from the existing invert.  This doesn't seem accurate.

Any suggestions on what may be the problem. Thanks

  • I recommend checking the inflows. The scenarios and corresponding fixed loads applied at the cross section "CS-1" are listed below.

    Scenario

    Fixed Load

    2 Year

    1.52 L/s

    2 year

    1.52 L/s

    10 year

    1.52 L/s

    10 Year

    1.12 L/s

    25 Year

    1.29 L/s

    100 year

    1.52 L/s

    Notes:

    • These inflows are very low. The conduit "CO-1" has a 2m diameter and a full flow capacity of about 4200L/s. An inflow range of 0.4 L/s (1.52-1.12 L/s) is not significant in a pipe of that size.
    • Four of the scenarios are using the same inflow.
    • You may want to incorporate headwalls.
