I would like to know how do we model standpipe or surge shaft in Water Hammer. I have provided a pipe with end of pipe elevation more than the HGL with discharge to atmosphere valve as well as without discharge to atmosphere valve, at the end. But I am getting an error in the pipe(stand pipe), pressure less than the vapor pressure. Please suggest a method to model standpipe in WaterHammer.

Try modeling the stand pipe as a surge tank, as mentioned in this link on our wiki. You can find more information on surge tanks in HAMMER's Help documentation under the topic "Surge Tanks".
