Creating nodes for waterlines

Hi,

I would like to know how to create nodes for waterpipes without having them graphically displayed as chambers or manholes. How can I do it?

  • Hello Michael,

I concur with Scott's suggestion of the transition, if you're using SewerCAD, SewerGEMS, CivilStorm or StormCAD. If you don't want to see the transition (junction chamber) element, you can uncheck the box next to it in Element Symbology to hide it from plan view.

If there is no change in the pipe shape, size, material or slope, you can use a bend (vertex). For more on inserting bends in link elements (pipes), see the following article in our wiki:

    communities.bentley.com/.../22948.inserting-or-laying-out-pipe-bends

If you're using WaterCAD or WaterGEMS, you can use the bend approach or if you need a junction to model a change in diameter, material or slope/elevation, you can use the method of unchecking the junction later in element symbology.
