hi,
Can anyone tell me whether stormcad can calculate hydraulic length and slope of a catchment automatically? if so how?
because i tried calculating time of concentration for catchment areas but it asks hydraulic length and slope.
JR3012,
Are you asking if StormCAD can do watershed delineation? If so, the answer to that question can be found here:
communities.bentley.com/.../9590.can-stormcad-civilstorm-sewergems-sewercad-or-pondpack-perform-a-watershed-delineation.aspx
If that doesn't help please describe in more detail what you're having trouble with. All you need to enter for your catchments should be the time of concentration, the area, and the Rational C.
I hope that helps,
Mark
Hi,
i want to calculate time of concentration using the stormcad and not by the excel. So in that case i need hydraulic length as input value for time of concentration which will depend on the catchment area. How can i calculate that hydraulic length which would be different from the length of the pipe.
I hope you understood my question. thanks.
I see what you're doing now. It looks like you're trying to use the Length and Velocity method for computing the Tc. The hydraulic length information is something that you would already have to know about your catchment in order to use this method. From what I have read "the hydraulic length is the length measured along the main watercourse, which is the central and largest watercourse of the catchment and the one conveying runoff to the outlet." StormCAD, currently, doesn't have the ability to do this since it is related to catchment delineation as was described in the wiki attached to my above response.
I hope that helps out.
