hide pipe labels in WaterCAD

I've built a model that has a lot of pipes and hydrants so when I zoom out the pipe labels overlap the hydrants and make it impossible to see the hydrant labels. I tried turning them off by going to Tools>Options then to the "Labeling" tab and unchecking the box for "Pipe" under the "on" column and it didn't do anything. How can I turn off the labels?

Thanks,

David

  • In the Element Symbology, you would need to uncheck Label for the pipes.

  • If I select "view>element symbology" it shows up as a window to the side and only allows me to check and uncheck features and will turn off the display of the pipes and labels. What am I doing wrong?

  • In the Element Symbology table, there is most likely a plus sign to the left of Pipe.  Click on this to expand the list and you should see Label listed. Uncheck only Label.

  • If you want a more powerful tool, you can go to an element type and pick Zoom Dependent Visibility under Element Symbology. With this, you can hide things as you zoom in and out depending on the level of zoom.

It sounds as if you may be in GIS Drawing Style where the fonts stay the same size as you zoom. You can go to the 8th button on top of Element Symbology and switch to CAD style where the fonts change size as you zoom in and out.
