EPS model for Fire Flow

Hello,

I am using WaterCAD version 08.11.04.58

Is there a EPS model for Fire Flow?

Regards

Alex

  • Alex,

You cannot run a fire flow analysis in EPS.  You can use the EPS Snapshot in the calculation options.  You would set "Is EPS Snapshot?" to True.  This is still a steady state run, but it considers the starting date and time of the analysis and applies the appropriate pattern multipliers for that time.  Example 5 has a fire flow scenario.

  • What exactly are you trying to do? What do you mean by "EPS model for fire flow"?

WaterGEMS "Fire flow analysis" calculates the water that can be delivered to a node for fire fighting.

If you want to look at how flows and levels change over the course of a long duration fire, you can always set up an EPS scenario and run it.

  • For an example of an EPS model set up to simulate a fire, take a look at Quick Start Lesson #2, "Extended Period Simulation", under Help > WaterCAD Help > Contents > Quick Start Lessons.
