WaterCAD / WaterGEM: Modelbuilder Message - Unable to Open Table

I'm trying to import the customer meter data in WaterGEM using Modelbuilder from a Word Excel document.  When I try to import the data, the following message pops up.

The name of the file appears with '$' in the message, which is different from the actual name.  I changed the name of the file to simpler name, which is 'pid_with_xy_coordinate'.  I even re-started the computer.  But, I still get the same message with the same funny name with dollar sign.  What could be the problem?

I'd appreciate your input. Thanks!

Yoko

  • I realized I need to sync, so I did. Then, I received the following messages.  Which format do I need to change?

  • Hello Yoko,

It looks like you may have used the "sync out" button in the modelbuilder manager. This is for exporting the data in the model to external file. It doesn't sound like this is what you intended to do. If you're trying to import customer meters into the model from the spreadsheet, use the "build model" option.

For the original error - can you provide a copy of the spreadsheet (even if it only includes a few rows) and either screenshots of the Modelbuilder configuration (what you selected in each step), or the .MBC file, exported from the main Modelbuilder manager?

I noticed the file is located on a "P" drive - although it shouldn't matter, you can try copying the .xlsx file locally first.

  • Yoko,

Can you please upload your spreadsheet so we can have a look at it? There are two options for sharing your files on BE Communities. If you would like the files to be visible to other members, compress the files into a zip file and upload them as an attachment using the ‘Advanced Reply editor’ before posting. If your data is confidential, you can follow the instructions in the link below to send it to us via Bentley Sharefile. Files uploaded to Sharefile can only be viewed by Bentley.

  • Thanks, Jesse and Mark. As I reviewed the spreadsheet, I realized that there are a lot of data missing. I don't know how that happened, but I will try to check that first. Thank you so much.

  • There were errors when the original customer meter information was geocoded.  I've been communicating with ESRI support staff and now they helped me create a spreadsheet with correct X and Y coordinates.  However, when I try importing using the model builder - I still get an error message - a new one. "Specify the Key/Label Field"  It comes up even though I specify this field and make sure they match up in the box below as well. Please see the attachments. Note: since my computer's Microsoft Office is in 32-bit (though the operating system is 64-bit), I'm working using the 32-bit WaterGEM.  May I send the Excel file as well?
