changing demands and water flows of each junction.

hello, when we are working and modeling with watercad , how can take a report and see results? i thought we should enter water flows of each junction and then modify pipes diameters. but i can not change the flows of junctions and so i am not able to take a report and result.

Merci

  • Hello Majid,

I may need some clarification related to the issue. However, you can add demands to junctions through the Demand Control Center, found in the Tools pulldown menu. The flows in the system will be enough to satisfy demands in the system and balance the hydraulic grade. If you have a closed system (i.e., one with no tank or reservoir downstream of the source of flow), then the flow you see in the system will be what is needed to satisfy the demands. If there are other boundaries in the system, then additional flow may be seen depending on the hydraulic grade at these boundaries.

As for the report, there are a couple of different reports that are available. For instance, if you want to see results for pipes at a given time step, you can generate a report from the Pipe FlexTable by clicking the Report icon and choosing Report Current Time Step:

If you are running an Extended Period Simulation and want to see the results at a given time step, you can change the time step through the Time Browser, found under the Analysis pulldown menu.

There are additional reports under the Report pulldown. Aside from the Element Table reports (which are just the FlexTable reports), the reports available here tend to be more general.

If this doesn't help, I will need more information on what you are trying to do and what sort of report you are looking for.

    Regards,

    Scott

  • hello and thank you. i have a loop system that has a reservoir tank in a junction. after taking report my pressure of junctions get negative. i can not explain this results to myself. is it logical?
  • Hello Majid,

There are several reasons behind negative pressure in the system , please go through this support solution.
