Object reference not set to an instance of an object when doing pipe splits.

Please try to compact the database, to see if that helps.

1. Open the software but, do not open your project file. This can be done by clicking on the application icon and selecting close on the Welcome window.
2. Go to Tools > Database Utilities > Compact Database..
3. In this next step you are presented two options: 1) Retain record to optionally allow elements to be completely restored later 2) Purge records to save space. Option 2 for purging records will work best to help the database functional optimally as it reduces the number of unnecessary records saved.

If this doesn't help then we would need a copy of your model.

If your data is confidential, you can follow the instructions in the link below to send it to us via Bentley Sharefile. Files uploaded to Sharefile can only be viewed by Bentley.

If you send the model, please post here so we know it is available.

The software im using is the WaterCAD SS5.

Could you please provide the steps to reproduce the issue?
Are you performing batch pipe split?
Also if you could point out to any particular area in the model to look for , it would be great.

The error happens everytime i try to split a pipe with say a node, or a tank etc. You can try draw a pipe in anywhere of the model and try to split it with a node. The error message "object reference not set to an instance of an object" will appear.
