I am importing data from a GIS source that includes a field for Pressure Zone (using ModelBuilder in ArcGIS). It looks like for most elements, this can be done by setting the field to 'Zone (label)', which creates new Zones for each unique name found. However, attempting this with Customer Meters gives a warning message "The following read-only attribute(s) were ignored: Zone". Everything imports properly except the zone, which is left as None.
Following up on this, I tried exploring Customer Meter Zones in FlexTable for an existing model and found that the Zone field is locked as read-only, so there does not seem to be any way to populate that data.
Is there a reason why Zones are treated differently for Customer Meters than for other elements?
I am using WaterGEMS SELECTSeries 6, 08.11.06.114 32-bit, with the WaterProductsPatch_08.11.06.113_20160407 patch.

Hi Stephen,
As a follow-up to this thread - if you click the field in question (such as "Zone" for a customer element) in the Properties Grid and look at the very bottom, you will see a description that provides some clarification. In this case it states:
"The zone assigned to the associated element of the customer meter"

I've also added a note to our general article on the Customer Element:
