SewerCAD Select Series 5 Flex Table Multiple Column Selection

Hello,

I have upgraded to select series 5 from select series 4 in SewerCAD and StormCAD. It used to be possible to select multiple columns in a flex table by holding the ctrl button and copying the data to i.e excel sheet. And also it was possible to use ctrl+shift+arrows to select desired columns or rows from start to end. However, in select series 5 these options are not applicaple. Is there a way to solve this problem or is there any patches for the solution.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Emre.

  • Emre,

I tested this and the functionality is the same for me in both versions of the software. The wiki below refers to a few other ways that data can be exported from a Flextable. The export to Excel option was introduced in Select Series 5.

  • Emre,

Regarding selection of a column - to do this, right click on the header and choose "select column". Then, click the copy button at the top. You can read more about this here:

  • Thank you very much for your reply but exporting is not my problem. The problem is the waste of time each time when I just want to copy the desired columns. It is suprising that your select series and mine do not work with the same functionality. Could you please give the version of your select series 5 for me to check if mine is the latest one. Thank you very much again.
  • Hi Emre,

Please see the link in my previous reply. The most recent versions of SewerCAD use a new underlying component to work with grids like Flextables, which works slightly differently. There are several different ways to copy out flextable data.

You can right click on a column header and choose "select column", then click the copy button to copy to clipboard. If you want to select multiple columns, click and drag across the cells, or click the square, blank cell in the very upper-left corner to select the entire table, then click the copy button at the top.

Depending on exactly what you need to copy out, Mark's Excel Export suggestion could work well for you. You could set up a selection set and/or custom flextable in advance, then select that for export. You could also set up a custom table with only the columns you want, filter as neede,d then click the export button in the upper left corner to export to CSV format.

  • Emre,

The version of Select Series 5 that I am using is 08.11.05.113, however, the latest version of the software is 10.00.00.40. Either can be downloaded using the following link:

If this is something that you do for all your projects my suggestion to save time would be to create shared flextables that are shared across all your projects (View > Flextables > Shared > right click > Create new). You can set them up with the columns that you want to export and use the procedure described here to quickly export the model results for every project you do for all the flextables at once.
