Why isn't my tank refilling?

Hi,

I am having trouble with my tank filling back up after it has emptied. I am modeling a system that is already in place. I have errors that say "Disconnected demand nodes detected" and "System disconnected because of pipe." I read an earlier post that said the pipe connected to the tank will close when it is empty because of the tank's built-in altitude valves. That makes sense to me, but I don't want my tank to stay empty. When the water level in the tank gets below a certain point, the pumps need to turn back on and start filling it back up. I'm thinking it might be my pumps. I also have errors that say " Pump cannot deliver flow or head."

Please help.

Thank you,

Ashleigh

  • There are several possible reasons you may need to correct.

    1. Is the suction source for the pump at the right elevation

    2. Is the pump cure right

    3. Are the pipe sizes between the source and the tank right

    4. Is the pump curve right

    5. is the pump turning on

The best way to determine which it is would be to create a profile (View > Profile) from the source reservoir to the tank that is draining The problem should jump out at you.
