Problem

How to create a selection set?

Solution - Manual Creation

Use the steps below to create a Selection Set for specific selected elements:

1) Select the desired elements. It can be selected as shown below or by creating a window (by clicking and dragging).
2) After selecting, right click > Create Selection Set.
3) Give a name when prompted.

*  You can also add/remove elements from a selection set. Select the desired element, right click then pick either Add to Selection Set or Remove from Selection Set then pick the selection set in which you want the elements to be modified.

Solution - From Query

1) Create a query (View > Queries)

2) For instance, you may want to only view the pipes with a diameter of 250 mm. If such a case, you would search the Fields table on the left for "Diameter". Double-click this and it will appear in the section at the bottom of the Query Builder dialog. Next, select the operator, such as "=". Next, click the Unique Values button in the upper right and then double-click the value you want to filter by. When you are done, the Query Builder dialog will look similar to the screenshot below:

If you want to filter by more than one item, you can select the "AND" operator from the middle of the dialog and then go through the process above once more.

3) Once the query is created you can enable the selection set by double clicking on the query name and then right clicking in the drawing pane and choosing "Create Selection Set".

Solution - Selection Set from Flextable

If you have already filtered a Flextable, you can create a selection set of the filtered elements by clicking the Options button at the top of the Flextable and choosing "Create Selection Set" -

Sorting the Selection Set manager

As of the CONNECT Edition release 10.01.01.04, the Selection Set manager can be sorted by clicking the Label column header. The initial click will sort in ascending order. A subsequent click will sort in descending order.

Further sorting and grouping features are being considered for future versions of the OpenFlows products. The reference number for that is 420855.
