Overview

"An Error Has occurred: The SELECTserver license as expired"

This message appears when opening SELECTserver Administration Site (http://servername/bss/admin) and the license has expired.

The two ways to update a SELECTserver expired license are electronically or manually.
ELECTRONICALLY:
On the machine where SELECTServer is installed.
  1. Open the Administration Site page.Under License Management select Request\Update License
  2. Check the Force Full Retrieval box, and press OK.
  3.  After the SELECTserver downloads the new license click the button "Accept" in the top right corner and your SELECTserver will start working with the new license.
If it still shows the expiration warning please restart Internet Information Services on the SELECTserver machine. In order to do that open command prompt (with administrator rights), type “iisreset” and hit Enter. Open the admin page, the page should display the updated licenses.
MANUALLY:
If your SELECTserver does not have Internet connection or the above does not help.
To manually import the license, you need to contact Bentley SELECTsupport http://www.bentley.com/serviceticketmanager (Administration and Activation) for a new XML license file.
Once you receive SELECTServerLicense.xml, import the file into your SELECTserver by following below steps;

1.     Open the Administration Site page.

2.     Go to License Management select Import license file.

3.     Browse the xml license file and click on OK.

4.     Click the “Accept” button. Selecting the Accept button will update your License and message will go away.

Note: You may need to restart Internet Information Services on the SELECTserver machine as described above
