Technical Requirements

Bentley recommends taking advantage of a Bentley-hosted SELECTserver.

SELECTserver (32-bit) is supported for use on:

  • Microsoft Windows 2008 Server (including 64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 2003 Server (including 64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 7 (including 64-bit)
    • Ultimate, Professional, Home 
  • Microsoft Windows Vista (including 64-bit)
    • Enterprise, Ultimate, Business, Home, Home Premium
  • Microsoft Windows XP (including 64-bit)
    • Professional (SP2) 

SELECTserver (32-bit) Gateway Only is supported for use on:

  • Microsoft Windows 7 (including 64-bit)
    • Ultimate, Professional, Home 
  • Microsoft Windows Vista (including 64-bit)
    • Enterprise, Ultimate, Business, Home, Home Premium
  • Microsoft Windows XP (including 64-bit)
    • Professional (SP2) 
  • Microsoft Windows 2008 Server (including 64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 2003 Server (including 64-bit)

SELECTserver x64 is supported on the following 64-bit operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows 2008 Server x64
  • Microsoft Windows 2003 Server x64
  • Microsoft Windows 7 x64

  • Microsoft Windows Vista x64
    • Enterprise, Ultimate, Business, Home, Home Premium

SELECTserver x64 Gateway Only is supported on the following 64-bit operating systems:

The following software is also installed with SELECTserver if not already installed:

  • Windows Installer 3.1
  • Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 (for v08.09.03.48)
  • MSXML 6.0
  • SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2005 Express with Service Pack 3 or higher

Note: The server may have to be rebooted in order to complete the installation any of the above components

SELECTserver also requires:

  • Intel Pentium III (or equivalent) processor or better
  • TCP/IP Networking enabled
  • Internet Information Servers (with ASP.NET support)
  • 512MB RAM Minimum

SELECTserver Gateway also requires:

  • .NET Framework 2.0
  • MSXML 6.0
  • Intel Pentium (or equivalent) processor or better
  • TCP/IP Networking enabled
  • 128MB RAM Minimum
