Featured LEARNing: Bentley's Virtual Classroom, February 2-6, 2015

The following virtual classroom or blended learning courses for MicroStation (including Visualization, 3D, and PointClouds) are scheduled between February 2-6, 2015. Visit Bentley's LEARNing events listing for course details and registration or to see more of what's upcoming in the weeks ahead.

Live training in a virtual classroom setting complements on-demand video course lectures.  You'll work with practical, hands-on exercises and real-world datasets while interacting live with Bentley experts.  In the blended learning classroom, you watch the corresponding video lecture(s) prior to class and work on exercises in the practice workbook during the live portion. Bentley's expert instructor(s) are available to answer your questions as you work through the exercises.

MicroStation Introduction to 3D Express
02 February 2015 – 12:00 EST (United States)
I
nstructor: Robert Bossler

This course follows the transition from 2D drawing to 3D modeling using the basic tools for viewing, manipulating, and drawing and for basic Solid Modeling. Live training courses are very interactive. Students will continually engage with the instructor to ensure a successful learning outcome that includes a course assessment.

Ask the Instructor - Visualization in MicroStation
02 February 2015 – 13:00 EST (United States)
Instructor: Jerry Flynn

Discuss with Bentley instructors various topics that are important to you when using MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 3) for Rendering and Animation.

Using Dynamic Views in 2D Blended Learning
03 February 2015 – 08:30 UTC (United Kingdom)
Instructor: Mieke Pol

Before learning how to work with dynamic views in a 3D environment, this blended learning module will show you how to create detail views manually and how to use a drawing model in a 2D environment. Thus you will become acquainted with the drawing composition workflow and experience that it can be applied to 2D models too.

Microstation for Rendering
03 February 2015 – 12:00 EST (United States)
Instructor: Jerry Flynn

We are all amazed at computer generated imagery. MicroStation V8i and its new Luxology rendering engine provide you with powerful new rendering tools and possibilities. The MicroStation V8i for Rendering course requires knowledge of MicroStation 3D. While it is intended for users that are beginners, through intermediate, in rendering, it covers many advanced topics as well. Even an expert could learn many valuable tips and tricks to improve their renderings.

Create 2D Plans from 3D Geometry in a Civil Workflow
03 February 2015 – 13:00 UTC (United Kingdom)
Instructor: Mieke Pol

This civil session lets you master many of the workflows used to produce basic 3D models comprised of Solids, Surfaces and Meshes. Discover basic 3D navigation and create 2D plans from those models. Develop your 3D skills by creating a basic pier cap, foundation and other components to create a preliminary bridge design. You will develop 2D plan sets and their details from the 3D model. You will place callouts on the 3D model making it more reliable, effective, and valuable providing a clearer picture of the design.
