As mentioned in a previous blog, Saved Views are the center of universe for sheet composition. Saved views act as cameras of your model and enable you to invoke views of interest as well as place them on sheets. Among other things, it stores information about viewing range and orientation. There’s a quick and easy way to display this information. In the Saved Views dialog, just turn on Show toggle.
Saved view’s boundary is displayed as a box with dashed line style. This box represents a saved view and can be handled like a regular graphical element. It supports a few useful actions in its right-click menu. When you rotate or move it, the saved view is updated accordingly. When you make a copy of it, its corresponding saved view is copied.
You could display multiple saved views simultaneously, if you like to inspect their areas and ranges collectively.
Boundaries of perspective saved views show the exact eye position and perspective range of camera.
You can select a boundary to see its edit handles. If the saved view has a clip volume, you can see the clip volume’s edit handles too. You can then manipulate their extents like you would a regular shape.
More blogs to come, so stay tuned...
