Chris, it seems you had the solution, at least in my case. I set my driver to not process the clip mask fence (I guess that is what that setting controls?). It is now printing properly. Thank you for your fedback.
I'm going to assume this is a WAD & am not goint to file a ST on this issue for now. Screenshot below for future reference...
A few months ago I was having problems with some files printing with unwanted lines. I posted a meesage to the forum, and I received a suggestion to try modifying my printer config file, as follows:
Chris,
you could try to edit your printer driver configuration:
in the base properties under advanced try to set the "enable driver clipping" to true or false.
Maybe this helps.
This recommendation actually solved the problem, although I never understood how or why. Maybe you could try this with your printer config file and see if it makes a difference. It may be a totally unrelated thing, but you never know...
Hope this helps,
Chris
Thank you Stuart & Gerd for your help. We will play with the background color trick & see how that works for us. My tech guy will submit a ST using this file as a test case.
Thanks again for the feedback....
Steve
I also can see the "ghost" lines on the print. I recommend to file a ticket through the Service Ticket Manager.
As an alternative to the clip mask have you considered to use a background in your textstyle? If you use the background color for the fill and the frame and use some distance for X (0.5) and Y(0.7) your dimension text is masking the area automatically. This larger Y value even masks the dimension line depending on the distance.
Steve Hipp:Ok, here is a small test file. Can someone please open it & see if the clipping element shows up (as shown in my previous screenshot) in a print preview. I think it may be the print drivers my company uses, but I'm not sure...

I see the clipping lines (fence) in the print preview, with all our pltcfgs. Must be more going on with your file somewhere.

I kept playing with it, trying different render settings, & reapplying the fence mask, & it finally displayed & printed properly, but I have no clue why its working now because I'm using the exact same settings I started with....
I'll see if I can post a small dgn that is still displaying the clip mask element later...
I have seen this when I clip mask a pdf I had referenced to a drawing. Only showed up when I printed to a pdf not when I printed to paper. Never got a response from Bentley on this.

Hello,
I've run into this a time or two before & cant figure it out. In this case I have a section created using dynamic view. I then added dims, added Display Styles to suit, & masked out a small portion for a dimension. It doesnt show on the screen, but shows up on the prints & print preview, as per the screenshot. I tried masking both before & after applying my Display Style, still no dice.
Any ideas whats happening?
