I could not reproduce the hanging you have previously experienced but I have seen your new problem with losing clip, both in DWG save as well as with manual merge in Reference Manager. This turns out to be a known problem that is caused by your clipping boundary in a different reference file (title sheet). Our recommendation is to delete existing clipping boundary and re-clip reference attachment.
There we go attached is a zip file! The file you will need is "08032_B3_P_01_G200_001test" when i convert it to a dwg it unclips Reference 19. Any suggestions?
Apologies for the delay on the response. Unfortuntelly all my users are still experiencing the same issues in regards to converting to .dwg and clipped references been unclipped. This problem never occured in XM. I have an example file but am not certain how to upload it?
Cheers
J
If you post a small set of test files we can take a look at the issue.
No it doesn't hang when i manual merge files. What i have resorted to doing is fence filing then exporting fenced files to dwg.... which is an additional step which i hope is avoidable.
Does it hang if you manually merge them in reference file dialog box, or merge them when saving to V8 DGN?
Phil,
I am using MicroStation V8i (Select series 2) - Version 08.11.07.443. The promblem occurs regardless of what dwg format i use. I have read that on another forum that sometimes it is better to do a fence file copy then export to dwg. What do you think about this?
Could you identify the MicroStation version (i.e. v##.##.##.##) that you are using? Also, what dwg format are you using?
Just wondering if anyone has experienced diffculties with creating .dwg from .dgn files using .dws file. The problem that i'm encountering is that sometimes it will hang on a refernece with a clip boundary or a a clip mask during the merging process. When i remove the clip mask it will then work correctly. Any suggestions? :-(
