I am trying to assign material to Bentley Architecture forms. Everytime I reopen the design file, the assignment is lost. I have to reassign it. I noticed some walls don't remember material assignment and some do. This doesn't happen when I attach material in 3D surface/face or even object like solids/mesh. These objects remember the material. Does anyone knows why exactly this happens? Any thoughts would be of great help. I am using the MicroStation 08.11.07.27 with Luxology 24a. BA is the 08.11.07.26 I guess.
Hello Matt,
Sorry for the wrong numbers. I am actually using 08.11.05 ones. I got confused because I wanted the 07 build downloaded and just copied that number here.
Thanks,
Rabi
I have experienced the same problem. The problem seems to be with Bentley Architecture, that doesnt work 100% with luxology yet.
What you need to do is to save your materials in a specific table (*.mat) for your design. If the table isnt loaded, changing model forth and back (after trying to load it) usually makes it appear. But if you change material when the table isnt loaded and then saving will overwrite your other settings.
Its really annoying I know. Working directly in Microstation doesnt cause this problem... dont know what to tell you.
Well the best way is to save all your materials in a specific palette (*.pal) for you project, and specify these materials directly in the parts editor. This works perfectly, but it is not as flexible. (You have to use a *.pal because the BA parts editor cannot access *.dgnlib files)
Or am I wrong, you guys from Bentley?
Regards,
Martin
I noticed, the mesh objects don't remember the materials. The solids/smart surfaces easily remember the material assigned or attached to them but meshes seems to forget them when the program closes.
Thanks for your help.
Sincerely,
