Hello,
I`m a student who is learning to use Microstation V8i (select series 3). So I`m quite new at working with MS and i have a problem, which i can`t solve. So i`m trying to render a house first floor, but it will fail every time i use it. Okay not every time one time it succeeded, but then i had accidentally push some button and now it won`t work. And i don`t now what button it was. I think there are some lighting problem. I tried to solve a problem by changing some lightning setting, but it didn`t work and can`t figure it out by myself, so maybe someone can tell me, what might be wrong or what should i do? I added a picture about situation to, and maybe it is naive to believe that somebody can help me just seeing a picture, but i try anyway. By the way, does MS have any way to format rendering setup? Could this help? I added a picture about my situation, maybe it is naive to believe that somebody can help me just seeing a picture, but i try anyway.
hello Annit,
I looks like you need to enter a more realistic resolution- try entering 1000 in the x field and the y will change to match the aspect of view no 2 that you are rendering

Also as far as formatting for render setups- you can do this but it will not include the resolution of the render. In the Luxology window in your screengrab you are currently running an interior good render setup, an untitled lighting setup and an untitled environment setup- these three setups go together, along with the resolution you dial in to the x and y fields to determine the quality of your final render.
When starting out you will probably want to do a lot of test renders, where speed of output is important so it might be best to choose a draft render setup (you can choose this from the drop down menu list -it is the 11th icon along in the luxology window, along with a resolution of around 1000 for x- and as mentioned the y will set automatically based on the aspect ration of the view you are rendering.
When you are happy with the results you are seeing then you can swap to a better render setup and a higher resolution to run the final render.
hope this helps
Thank you very much for your answers, i got my problem solved and now i`m smarter than i was before :)
Hello Annit, since you state that you are a student, there is a strong chance that you have access to Bentley Learn.
If so, you should be able to do the Tutorials that Bentley has posted at learn.bentley.com/.../ViewLearningPathDetails
Not all people like doing tutorials but, if you are one that does, you should find them helpful.
