Problem

Microstation hangs when opening files by dragging them on the shortcut
or by double-clicking on them, no error message is given she has to kill
the process. Sometimes the same happens also when opening a file from
Microstation manager.

Solution

Microstation shortcut was somehow modified so that the application was
started locally using the machine UNC path with the Administrative
share, as shown below:

"\\pc_name\c$\Program files\...\ustation.exe"

Same syntax was used for both "Target" and "Start in" fields.

This probably caused conflicts in the application permissions as the
"c$" share should be only used for administrative purposes and not for
running or accessing local files.

Changing both strings in the shortcut to the normal syntax "C:\Program
Files\...\ustation.exe" solved all file opening issues.
