Problem

Whenever user performs File > Open, RD=, XD= (to another file) or exits MicroStation is getting the following error

"HRESULT=80030003 Can't Create new file, the Path %1 could not be found".

Solution

Check the MS_TMP variable by going to Workspace > Configuration.

Look for the variable MS_TMP = "path".

If defined, verify that the path/directory exists (and that you have read/write privileges). If the variable is undefined, set it to the ../win32app/ustation/tmp/ directory or to ../Bentley/Program/MicroStation/temp directory.

Also check and make sure the system has a C:\TEMP and/or C:\TMP directory.
